An experience designer by trade. A researcher by opportunity. My signature is in my strategic approach.
I’m Jackie, a product designer and researcher currently working at Designit. My background in music and art paired with my diverse design experiences have provided me a well-rounded set of superpowers- critical thinking, resourcefulness, scrappiness, compassion, and patience (still working on this one) - that I tap into everyday to conduct my work.
Throughout my career I have been offered very special opportunities that have expanded my purview of impactful design. I’ve worked on novel (at the time) innovation projects such as the OTC hearing aid and the TeleHealth service at GN, databases for the NIH to research preventions & cures for Covid-19 and the opioid epidemic, and a mobile app to facilitate hybrid working in the wake of Covid-19. Working with international companies have allowed me to conduct research on a global level, providing me with a deeper understanding of human nuances and different market needs.
I've spent a lot of time with end-users, listening to their meaningful stories, experiences, and feelings, and have developed a capacity for empathy that puts advocating for their needs at the forefront of my practice. As an experience designer my job is to make things easier, better, more usable etc., however, my design approach is now motivated by kindness and compassion.
I am currently open to new opportunities in the US or internationally; I’d love to hear from you!
